Arcadia is a gaming platform where users can play Snake, Simone Says and Tetris as well as chatting to multiple users online. This group projects output was to put into practice the implementation of data structures, multithreading, server/server sockets, version control and the usage of a database. This project was written using Java. A Java library called Swing was used to set up a GUI for the interface. The design mock up of the platform was made using the Adobe Suite Software (Illustrator and Photoshop) and Cinema 4D to create the graphics of the main interface, chat interface and gaming interfaces. A database was set up using PostGre SQL where users could sign in, input their log in their information, along with tracking their chat and scores. This project was made in a short space of time to learn the various pieces of new information listed above.
